Outlook for 2021 Samsung MICRO LED, Samsung Neo LED and the Lifestyle product line
Samsung first introduced MICRO LED technology in 2018 in the form of The Wall. It is a customizable modular system that can reach an amazing 292 inches in length like no other. Because of its inherent flexibility, the wall requires professional installation in the home or office.
Today, Samsung has made it possible to integrate MICRO LED technology into the traditional TV experience without the need for professional mounting and installation. MICRO LED will be available worldwide in sizes 110 and 99 from the end of March; size 88 will be launched in the fall and size 76 is planned for the future.
The MICRO LED can be transformed into four displays in one via 4Vue (Quad View), allowing users to view up to four content sources simultaneously.
Samsung designed the Samsung Neo QLED to enhance your viewing experience, no matter what you’re looking at. The visual experience of the Samsung Neo QLED is defined by the Samsung Neo Quantum processor and the new mini quantum LEDs that are 1/40 the size of conventional LEDs. This allows for ultra-fine control of the lighting.
With deep blacks, bright lights and smarter scaling technology than any other Samsung TV, the Samsung Neo QLED delivers ultra-realistic images.
Samsung is also the official Xbox Series X TV partner in the US and Canada with its Samsung Neo QLED and QLED TV offerings. Samsung claims that its Neo QLED and QLED technologies allow you to see almost every detail with incredible 4K brightness, silky smooth 120 frames per second and a low response time of 5.8ms.
Samsung has also partnered with AMD to create the first Freesync Premium Pro-compatible TV for PC and console gaming. Moreover, Samsung’s new game dashboard helps gamers quickly keep track of important aspects of the game. You can use it to access Samsung’s Super Ultrawide Gameview feature, which brings ultra-wide aspects (normally only available on gaming monitors) to the TV.
For those interested in fitness, the Samsung Neo QLED brings Samsung Health, a comprehensive fitness and mindfulness platform that will launch in spring 2020. Last year, Samsung Health helped users stay fit with partner apps for every fitness and health style, and with seamless connectivity to mobile devices and wearables.
Users can also access the Smart Trainer through Samsung Health, which uses artificial intelligence to analyze posture and provide real-time feedback to improve fitness while following workout videos. Users must use the optional camera, but can take full advantage of the Smart Trainer.
In 2021, Samsung Neo QLED 8K models (QN800A and QN900A) will be available in 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes, while 4K models (QN90A and QN85A) will offer an even wider choice, starting at 50 inches.
Samsung also talked about its new line of lifestyle TVs. New partnerships with art stores such as NAVA Contemporary and Etsy mean more original art is being framed. It also includes AI-based automatic selection technology that recommends over 1400 artworks from world-renowned institutions based on your selections. In addition, the framework has increased photo storage from 500 megabytes in 2020 to 6 gigabytes in 2021, allowing for up to 1,200 photos (all of them) in UHD quality. The frame is now even thinner, at just 24.9mm thick, which is about the same depth as the frame itself.
Samsung also introduced new ways to customize the frame with accessories like the Slim Fit wall mount with up to five third-party frame options and more. There’s also My Shelf, a new accessory that lets you create a custom wall with personal touches to match your screen and decor. It can be attached to 55, 65 and 75 frames and will be available in four different colors: beige, white, brown and black.
Next on the list is Premiere, the industry’s first triple laser projector with 4K resolution. It has a minimalist design, rounded corners and a fabric edge. And not only that: This year, Samsung will offer rolled-up screens optimized for the premiere on its official website.
Samsung has also unveiled the Terrace, a weatherproof outdoor TV with IP55 protection against water and dust. Terrace is available in 56 and 65 variants, and a new 75 Full Sun model will be available this summer. The panel has up to 6 hours of protection in 700 W sunlight and 104 degrees Fahrenheit; brightness can be reduced to protect the panel in other high temperature and sunlight conditions.
Samsung has also unveiled a new range of monitors. This includes Samsung’s Smart Monitor, the first multifunctional monitor that combines monitor and TV functions. Compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wireless DeX and Apple AirPlay 2, the Smart Monitor allows users to work from anywhere in the world without the need for a PC connection. Second, the new Odyssey G9 gaming monitor features a Quantum MiniLED screen and a 1000R screen curvature.
Samsung also unveiled the 75-inch Samsung Interactive FLIP, a digital whiteboard on which you can write, draw and edit. Flip offers optimized 4K picture quality and easy-to-read images. It is available in 55, 65, 75 and 85 inch variants.
In addition to the TVs and monitors, Samsung also unveiled the Q 2021 series of soundbars, featuring Samsung’s exclusive Q-Symphony technology that synchronizes the sound of the Samsung TV for an enhanced three-dimensional sound experience. Based on the Q950A, the new Samsung soundbar features the industry’s first 11.1.4 channel sound, Bass Boost and Tap Sound, making it easy to connect to any Samsung device. The Q950A also works with several voice assistants, including Amazon Alexa and Bixby.
Samsung has not yet announced when any of these products will be available in Malaysia. For more information about Samsung TV products, you can visit the official website here.
