With Windows 10, you can connect and access PCs connected to your local network at home or at work. When a new computer is connected to the network or when the entire network is reconfigured, problems can sometimes arise with PCs connected to the network. Many Windows users complain that after these scenarios, the computer no longer appears on the network.
These problems are not only caused by a reconfigured network or a new PC, but also by a faulty Windows update and problems with the network and adapter settings. You can easily fix computers on the network that have no problems by improving all the above reasons.
The above causes and problems can be easily solved by adjusting the settings of Windows 10. All you need is an administrator access and you can start using the suggested solutions.
Restarting the PC can help solve many problems in Windows 10. If certain applications or a temporary problem prevents the computer from appearing on the network, restarting the computer may solve the problem.
Click on the Windows logo and then on the Power button. Finally, click on Restart.

After rebooting, you can go to the file explorer and check if the computer appears online.
As mentioned earlier, a bad update can ruin your Windows system. However, Microsoft releases updates to fix all the bugs and problems from the previous version. If your computer does not appear online due to update problems, you can check if new updates have been made for your computer.
Press the Windows + I key to open the Settings program and go to Updates and Security. Now click Windows Update in the left pane and then click Check for Updates.

If network and sharing are disabled on your computer, no computers on the network are displayed. You can activate it by following the steps below.
Step one: Open the file explorer and go to the left panel, in the Network section. You will see an error message, click OK and ignore it.

Open the network again and you will see all computers and other smart devices on the network.
If even the above settings did not discover the network for your PC, you can do it manually from the Settings program in Windows 10.
Step one: Open the Settings application from the Start menu and go to Network and Internet.
Step two: Click Network and Sharing Center under Advanced Network Settings.

Step four: Now select Enable network discovery under Private (current profile) and check the box next to Enable automatic configuration of network connected devices.
Also select the Enable file and printer sharing option.

Step Five: You must now expand all networks and select Enable sharing so that anyone with network access can read and write files to public folders.
Select the option Use 128-bit encryption… and finally enable password sharing to prevent unauthorized access to shared folders and files.

If you have an older PC with an older version of the operating system, under File Sharing Connections, select Enable file sharing for devices with 40-bit or 56-bit encryption.

Once you have run all the commands, restart the computer and make sure all computers on the network are visible.
Outdated drivers are the main cause of many network problems, including a computer that is not on the network. You can update the network drivers in the Device Manager.
Press the Windows + X key and click on Device Manager to open it. Now expand the network adapters and right-click on the driver. Click on Update Driver.

You need to make changes to the services below to correct the situation when your computer does not appear online. Make sure you are logged in with an administrator account to make changes to the specified services.
Step one: Press Windows + R to open Run and type services.msc. Press the Enter key to open the Services application.
Step two: In the Services application, locate the host service of the Discover feature provider and double-click to open its properties.
Step three: Click on the General tab and change the startup type to Automatic. Click Apply and OK.

You can enable network detection traffic from a command line terminal or a PowerShell window in Windows 10 to view the networked computers on your PC.

You can try to access a computer on your network using its IP address. To determine the IP address of a network computer, open a command prompt there and run the command ipconfig /all.
An IPv4 or IPv6 address is the IP address of your computer. Now open the file explorer of your PC and enter the IP address after the two slashes in the address bar. For example: 192.168.1.19.

You can now see the network computer in the file explorer. This is not a permanent way to access a computer on the network, but you can do your job temporarily until you find the right solution.

Open the control panel by navigating to the Start menu and clicking on Programs and Features. Be sure to select the small icons to be displayed by option to view programs and features.

If there are problems with the LAN settings, you cannot see the computers and devices on the network. You can check whether the network is working properly or not by using the ping command in PowerShell.
You can open a PowerShell terminal and run the ping command followed by the hostname or IP address of the local computer. For example: ping www.google.com or ping 192.168.1.19.

If there is a response to the ping command, it means the network configuration is correct and something else is wrong. However, if you do not receive a response, check the network settings by following the steps below.
Step one: Open Settings and go to Network and Internet.
Step two: In the Advanced Network Settings section, click the Change Adapter Settings button.

Step four: In the Properties dialog box, double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). If you are using IPv6, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Step Five: Now make sure that the options Get IP address automatically and Get DNS server address automatically are selected.

Then register it and check if you can connect to the computer on the network without any problems.
If your network adapter still doesn’t work after a driver update, you can run the diagnostics program to let Windows fix the problem for you.
Open Settings and navigate to the Updates and Security ➜ Troubleshooting page. Then click on More Devices to troubleshoot.
Now locate the network adapter and click on it. Finally, click the Run Troubleshooter button.

If the workgroup settings are incorrect or if you have added a computer to the wrong workgroup, you will not be able to see the computers on the network.
Press Windows + R to open Run and enter the sysdm.cpl SystemProperties property. Press the Enter key to open the system properties.
