While Instagram rarely has stability issues, video playback can occasionally freeze. It can also lead to application errors, instability or nervous breakdown. If Instagram’s videos are not airing on Android, then you’ve come to the right place. Let’s try to solve this problem together and broadcast these videos.

How to fix Instagram videos that are not playing?

1. Instagram Application Update

The first step is to update your Instagram application. In most cases, the problem is an outdated version. So make sure you always have the latest version. The automatic update should do the job for you, but you can also check for updates manually.

  1. Open the Play Store application.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. On Instagram, search for the Updates tab.
  4. Select Update. http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Fix-Instagram-Videos-Not-Playing-On-Android.jpg
  5. Then open Instagram and try to play the video.

If the video still does not work, we will try to take other measures.

2. Clear Instagram application cache and data

Like most applications, Instagram stores a lot of data on your phone. With certain settings, any photo or video you post can be stored in your phone’s memory or on an SD card. In addition, there are many cache files that can gradually slow down the application and affect video playback.

Therefore, your next step should be to clear the cache and data of the Instagram application. Follow these instructions to clear the data and cache.

  1. Open the settings.
  2. Open applications (Applications).
  3. Select Instagram and open Storage.
  4. Clear the cache and the data. http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/1610556743_651_Fix-Instagram-Videos-Not-Playing-On-Android.jpg
  5. Restart the device.
  6. Open Instagram (you may need to log in again).
  7. Try playing the video.

Some users use special applications to empty the cache automatically. However, we recommend that you do not use them. First they take up memory and then they tend to run in the background and slow down overall performance. Simply put, these applications are less cost effective than the current tool.

3. Reinstallation of the installation plan

Sometimes claims can be blocked due to damage. Sometimes the software has a mind of its own, and the only viable solution is to reinstall it. So, if you’ve tried the previous steps and the video still doesn’t load, try this.

  1. Press and hold the Instagram shortcut.
  2. If an X is displayed, touch it to remove it. http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/1610556744_829_Fix-Instagram-Videos-Not-Playing-On-Android.jpg
  3. Restart the device.
  4. Open the Play Store application.
  5. Search Instagram.
  6. Install the application.
  7. Try playing the video.

In most cases, this should solve your problem. Sure, if it’s the software that’s the problem. However, communication can sometimes play an important role in this wrong Instagram behavior. Go to the next step to resolve the connection.

4. Rebooting the Wi-Fi router

Some users have reported on various forums that Instagram videos work over Wi-Fi but not with mobile data and vice versa. So the first step is to reboot the Wi-Fi router. Turn off, wait about a minute, then turn on again.

You can also update the router’s firmware from the 5 GHz band to 2.4 GHz. Although 5 GHz allows for higher speeds, the signal is less reliable at a distance of 2.4 GHz. This is certainly not a problem with dual-band routers.

5. Resetting the network settings

After configuring the router, you need to reset the phone’s network settings. This should correct common connection errors and give you a fresh start. Note that you will need to restore the settings again.

  1. Press Settings.
  2. Open backup and reset.
  3. Select Reset Network Settings.
  4. Press RESET SETTINGS.
  5. Restart the device.
  6. Reconnect and watch the Instagram videos.

6. Turn off energy-saving mode

Thanks to one of our readers, we have another solution that might solve the problem. It solved the problem by disabling the save mode, which somehow affects the playback of Instagram videos.
So go to power saving settings, turn off power saving mode, and your problem should be solved.

Many thanks to Matt for suggesting this solution.

This has to stop. If you have any other issues with Instagram, please let us know in the comments section or contact us on Twitter. We will do everything in our power to help you resolve these issues.
