To solve this problem, Discord offers its users the Ladder feature for free. This alternative allows you to select and assign different roles to each participant in the Discord channel.
If you want to know how this tool works and how to optimize it for your needs, read on.
What is a leadership channel and what are the benefits of creating one on Discord?
When you create an account on Discord, you have the ability to invite multiple members or colleagues to your contact group. In companies, due to the different hierarchical levels, there are often subjects that can only be dealt with by the referees. This means that these confidential matters must be shielded from the rest of the staff.
Moreover, when there is a large number of channels, the management of the organization’s communication system should be delegated. This will significantly improve the positive synergies of the company. This involves assigning roles to the various participants so that they can grant permissions, remove or modify the parameters of discrepancies, taking into account the various strategic aspects of the company.
To achieve this goal, leadership channels will be established within Discord, which in addition to the above, will provide the following benefits:
- For the other topics, you can divide the information into three categories: important, strategic and confidential.
- By keeping the management channels open, you can raise issues that will only be addressed by the right people in the company, and you can prevent leaks that could be detrimental to the development of the company.
- Once a channel with well-defined roles is established, communication management becomes much easier and more flexible. As these tasks can be performed by different members, delegation becomes a concise instrument in this respect.
- The ability to separate topics makes it much easier to find them again when you need to refer to past actions.
- Permissions assigned to different members They allow you to keep your information safe because it cannot be deleted or changed as needed.
- All channel participants know who to contact to request an emergency permit.
- The information is controlled, preventing unrelated topics from getting mixed up.
- Every member knows where to find the information, which greatly improves the level of communication and updating on important topics.
Learn step by step how to create a Discord Leader channel from scratch
To create a guide channel in Discord Zero, follow the steps we show you below:
The first thing you need to do is create a community so that every member has a role. So you need to open Discord in the channel where you want to create the role and click on Invite People. You will then see the code appear on the screen, which you need to copy and send to the person you want to add to your channel. After acceptance, the invitation is automatically added to your dashboard.
Access to server settings
Now you need to select the action level that the user you just invited into the channel should have. To do this, it is necessary to enter the channel and go to the left toolbar. Click in the upper left corner of the screen next to the server name to open the menu and select Server Settings.
Creating a new role
At this point you should choose the Roll option. Then find the ROLES function at the top of the screen and click on the + sign to create a new role.
Assign the role you just created to.
You should now go to the left menu and find the USER CONTROL section. In the tools, you need to click on Members. Allows you to display a menu of all the people in the chain. At the end of each member’s name, you will find a + sign that you must select to determine the type of role you want to assign to that member.
Generate a text channel for the guide
The only thing left to do is to improve the communication system within the group. To do this, go to the main screen of Discord and look for the TEXT CHANNELS tool in the left menu under the server name. Press next to the + sign. If this is the first time you are creating a channel, the tutorial will be shown, otherwise you need to click on the Skip All Tutorial button.
A new window will appear, in which you must activate the Channel Text and Personal Channel fields. Don’t forget to give the new channel a name. Once you have completed this coverage, click Next to select the specific members who will have access to the new leadership roles, who will be the only users who can enter this channel.
Setting a new voice channel
Like a text channel, you can also create a voice channel. The following steps are similar, so you need to click on the tool + Voice Callanel features. Check the Channel Voice box, create a new name, and then switch to Private Channel. Don’t forget to activate the scale function as well.
Control of licences issued
To ensure that only authorized users have access to the channel, go to Edit Channel by entering the cog at the end of the channel name. Then click on Permissions. You will learn what your teammates’ responsibilities are in terms of management, messaging and reading.
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments. We will reply to you as soon as possible and this will also be a great help to other members of the community. Thank you.
